Votavová, Aneta ; Šťastná, Lenka (advisor) ; Miovský, Michal (referee)
Background: The entire research is based on the hypothesis that due to regular and long-term abuse of addictive psychotropic substances, the risk of damage to executive and cognitive functions in a given user increases. If a deficit develops, very often there is a decrease in the quality of life of the individual. The addictologist should be able to notice a deficit in his patients and, if confirmed, also intervene in the right way. Aim: The aim of the research is to create a proposal for two cognitive rehabilitation programs that could be implemented in clinical work with addictological patients. If an executive or cognitive deficit is detected in a patient, the selected programs should be able to provide high- quality and effective rehabilitation. In this way, each of the programs could bring a higher quality of life in selected patients. Another aim of the diploma thesis is to test the selected research set for damage to executive functions. The research set is divided into four groups. Each group is characterized by an abuse of a selected addictive substance or group of addictive substances. Methods: Each participant in the research set was tested through a test battery. The test battery was composed of several parts. These included frontal Assessment Battery, Pathway Test (version A, version...

Rohlenová, Eva ; Rodová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Svobodová, Tereza (referee)
The main goal of this thesis was to design a computer program applicable in occupational therapy in cognitive rehabilitation. I designed a PC program focused on shopping practice. Its main advantages are: the absence of any charges, the possibility of using it on an ordinary PC and the accessibility via the Internet. The designed program, named Trénink nakupování (~Shopping training), had been implemented in a beta version. Afterwards, it was tested and evaluated with a questionnaire by five stroke patients. The results show that all patients evaluated the program very positively and they believe in its benefits for the rehabilitation. The theoretical part describes cognitive training and shopping from the perspective of an occupational therapist. Four PC training programs focused on shopping training are described. Other sections provide detailed information about the designed program. The practical part consists of testing, the evaluation of questionnaires and suggesting ways to improve the program in the future. Key words: cognitive rehabilitation, cognitive training, iADL, shopping, program design, computer-assisted training, PC program, brain injury Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Aquired brain injury is still a current topic and a serious problem nowadays. After a treatment, a lot of consequences appear which cause a long-term inability to work and invalidation of many people. One of the serious problems is a disorder of cognitive functions which disables people to get back to a normal life. One of the options how to affect the cognitive functions impairment is a system called CogniPlus. Theoretical part of this work presents aquired brain injury, its dividing, basic classification and the consequences. Furthermore, this work dedicates to rehabilitation of cognitive functions using both computers and conventional methods. It also shows the work of the occupational therapist and the possibility of cognitive function testing. The aim of the research is to find out if CogniPlus cognitive function training is more effective than the conventional pencil-paper method. 20 people were tested in this study. Unfortunately, one of them had to quit due to health problems. The experimental and the control group had a therapy once or twice a week. All the participants went through Addenbrooke cognitive test and through a questionnaire of cognitive mistakes at the beginning and at the end of the testing. The experimental group showed a significant improvement in the global score ACE and...
Efficiency of the Cognitive Training Program Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment for People with Parkinson's Disease
Plzáková, Vladimíra ; Soukupová, Tereza (advisor) ; Lucká, Barbora (referee)
The objective of the study was to assess the effectiveness of the Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment training (FIE) in respondents with Parkinson's disease (PD) in comparison with another type of cognitive training. The specific aim of the study was to verify whether there were differences between the effectiveness of the FIE and the training of the individual cognitive domains for cognitive functions in respondents with PD. The study included patients with PD who underwent an examination by a neuropsychological battery before the beginning of the training in order to evaluate the level of cognitive functions. Based on the demographic characteristics and the overall score in the Mattis Dementia Rating Scale-II (DRS-II), the respondents (n = 24) were randomly divided into two research groups. The experimental group (EXP) trained using the FIE method for 60 minutes once a week during three months. The control group (CON) trained the individual cognitive domains. After the cognitive training the respondents were examined again in order to detect changes of the level of each one of the cognitive functions. The examination revealed significant differences in the first and the second phases of testing in the EXP respondents (n = 12) in the level of current anxiety (p = 0.024), memory for non-verbal...
